Prof. Dr. Holger Simon can look back on more than 20 years of experience in digital cultural management. During this time he has initiated innovative projects such as the prometheus image archive in 2001 and the Digital Historical Archive Cologne in 2009. In 2014 he was awarded the title of \u201cdigital head of Germany\u201d by the German Informatics Society and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Prof. Dr. Holger Simon researches and publishes on topics of digital transformation, innovation management in cultural industries and cultural entrepreneurship. Benno van Aerssen and Holger Simon are currently researching to identify principles of action for managers that have repeatedly proven to be effective over the centuries. They started their studies at the time of the Renaissance. The Renaissance period has triggered unique developments in economic, technical, religious, social and cultural areas. It brought forth artist-students like Leonardo da Vinci or Michelangelo, who did not see themselves \u201conly\u201d as craftsmen, but who created \u201cgodlike\u201d new worlds, which their recipients had never seen before.
