Visualization Workshop — When Innovation Gets Stuck, What's Usually Missing Is a Shared Picture

In most companies, ideas aren’t the problem. A shared picture is. Projects run in parallel, responsibilities remain unclear, decisions get postponed. Over time, a dense innovation fog sets in and innovation grinds to a halt. Not because people have stopped thinking. But because no one can see the whole picture anymore.

What Is a Visualization Workshop?

A visualization workshop can mean two different things, depending on what your team needs right now.

Scenario 1: We visualize together. Your team is caught in the innovation fog and needs clarity. In this format, we work together to make your innovation situation visible. Using targeted visualization methods, we translate complex relationships into tangible images — images that everyone in the room understands, because everyone helped create them. The result isn’t an abstract action paper that disappears on a shared drive. It’s a shared visual foundation that enables decisions and brings teams back into action.

Scenario 2: We teach the fundamentals of visualization. Your team wants to become a pen-in-hand organization itself. In this format, we give you the tools you need to make thoughts, ideas, and processes visible on your own — structured, comprehensible, and immediately applicable in everyday work. No prior knowledge required, no artistic talent necessary.

Who is it for?

A visualization workshop is the right format for two different starting situations.

You want clarity about your innovation situation. This workshop is aimed at leadership teams and innovation teams that sense innovation is stuck somewhere in their organization, but can no longer see exactly where. Particularly relevant for teams with too many parallel initiatives and no clear prioritization, for companies where innovation projects start but rarely get finished, and for leadership groups that need a shared language and direction.

You want to master visualization yourself. This workshop is aimed at teams and individuals who want to integrate visualization as a tool into their everyday working life. Particularly relevant for facilitators, leaders, and innovation managers who want to make thoughts and ideas visible themselves in the future, whether in meetings, workshops, or strategy sessions.

When Is a Visualization Workshop Useful?

When you’re looking for clarity about your innovation situation:

  • Too many parallel initiatives without clear prioritization
  • Innovation projects start but rarely get completed
  • Unclear responsibilities in the innovation process
  • Missing shared direction within the leadership team
  • Silent assumptions that no one openly addresses anymore
  • Lots of energy, but little tangible forward movement

When you want to master visualization yourself:

  • Meetings and workshops end without tangible visual results
  • Ideas and decisions get lost in the next day’s routine
  • Presentations and flipcharts don’t land the way they should
  • A desire to present complex content simply and clearly
  • Teams that want to develop a shared visual language

Our Workshop Formats

No company is like any other, so we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all format. We always adapt length, depth, and methodology to your specific situation.

Innovation Picture (8 hours)
The core format. In a focused working day with a small leadership group of three to six people, we look together at what’s really there: What exists? What’s missing? What’s blocking things, and how did this situation come about? The result is a tangible, visual picture of the innovation situation. And what makes it special: the moment the picture is in front of the team, the next logical step usually becomes obvious on its own.

Flipchart Training (8 hours)
For teams that want to become a pen-in-hand organization themselves. In a one-day training, participants learn how to make thoughts and ideas visible using simple means — structured, effective, and immediately applicable in everyday work. No prior knowledge required, no artistic talent necessary.

Graphic Facilitation (4 or 8 hours)
Christina Westing facilitates your workshop or strategy day while simultaneously visualizing what emerges. The result is not only a guided process, but a visual record that all participants can take with them. Ideal for strategy days and innovation workshops.

Graphic Recording (flexible)
Christina Westing captures live and visually what emerges in your most important moments, without interrupting the process as it unfolds. The result: a powerful overall picture of your event that leaves a lasting impression and can be shared.
